MEMBERS
There are ten members of the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority. All members are appointed by the Governor to staggered terms. Terms are generally four years with the exception of the first Authority. To establish the staggered appointments, five of the first appointees will serve two year terms. Current members’ terms are scheduled to expire in either 2009 or 2011.
The Authority consists of the following members:
The executive director of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs; The Chief of the Washington State Patrol; Two police chiefs; Two sheriffs; One prosecuting attorney; A representative from the insurance industry; A representative from the automobile industry; and One member of the general public.
The WATPA is comprised of 10 Governor’s appointees as follows:
